About this trip

This is the full Kerala loop, the one honeymooners and families alike ask for. From Kochi, the road climbs to Munnar, a hill station at about 1,600 m surrounded by tea estates, with Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri tahr, and the Top Station viewpoint. Thekkady is the gateway to Periyar Tiger Reserve, where a boat ride on the lake and a spice-garden walk are the standard activities. Alleppey (Alappuzha) is the heart of the backwaters, a network of lagoons and canals where a night on a traditional houseboat, converted from rice barges, is the signature Kerala experience. The route then drops south to Kovalam's crescent beaches near Thiruvananthapuram, with the Padmanabhaswamy temple exterior and Poovar's estuary as optional stops. Hotels, the houseboat category and inclusions are set by the supplier and listed for confirmation.
