About this trip

Shimla and Manali remain the most asked-for hill combination from Gujarat. Shimla, the former summer capital of British India, is built along a ridge at about 2,200 m, with the Ridge, the Christ Church, Mall Road and the Jakhu temple on the hill above; Kufri nearby offers horse rides and snow in winter. The road to Manali follows the Beas valley past Kullu's shawl weavers. Manali sits at about 2,000 m, with the Hadimba temple in its cedar grove, the Vashisht hot springs and the Solang valley for paragliding, zorbing and ropeway rides. The Atal Tunnel, 9.02 km long and the longest highway tunnel above 10,000 ft, now gives year-round access to Sissu in Lahaul, while the Rohtang Pass itself opens roughly May to October with permits. Hotels, meals and activities are set by the supplier and listed for confirmation.
