Kathmandu's temples and durbar squares, Pokhara's lake and Annapurna sunrise, and a jungle safari in Chitwan.
Nepal needs no visa for Indian citizens and no flight for those who prefer the road, and this loop covers its three essentials. The Kathmandu valley holds seven World Heritage monument zones, including Pashupatinath, Nepal's holiest Hindu temple on the Bagmati, the Boudhanath and Swayambhunath stupas and the Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Pokhara, on Phewa Lake beneath the Annapurna range, offers a sunrise at Sarangkot with Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South in view, the Peace Pagoda across the lake, Davis Falls and the Gupteshwar cave, with paragliding as the popular add-on. Chitwan National Park, in the lowland Terai, is a World Heritage Site where jeep safaris and canoe rides look for one-horned rhinos, deer, gharial crocodiles and, with luck, tigers. Hotels, meals and inclusions are set by the supplier and listed for confirmation.
