Two nights in Kuala Lumpur for the towers, caves and street food, then three nights on Langkawi's beaches.
Malaysia pairs well for a first trip to South-East Asia: English is widely understood, the food is familiar to Indian palates, and the distances are short. The trip opens in Kuala Lumpur, where the Petronas Twin Towers were the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004, and the Batu Caves, a Hindu shrine inside a limestone hill about 13 km north of the city, draw pilgrims and visitors alike up its 272 steps. After the city you fly to Langkawi, an archipelago of about 99 islands off the north-west coast that is a duty-free zone. Its best-known sights are the Langkawi Sky Bridge, a curved pedestrian bridge reached by cable car on Gunung Mat Cincang, and the mangrove channels of the Kilim Geoforest Park, part of a UNESCO Global Geopark. Beach time at Pantai Cenang is built in. Hotels, meals and which tickets are included are set by the supplier and listed for confirmation.
Arrive at KLIA and transfer to your hotel. Evening free around Bukit Bintang or KLCC.
Morning at the Batu Caves, then a city round covering Merdeka Square, the National Mosque exterior and a photo stop at the Petronas Twin Towers. Evening in Jalan Alor's food street.

Ride the SkyCab up Gunung Mat Cincang to the Sky Bridge, then an island round including Eagle Square and the Cenang beach road.
Boat through the Kilim Geoforest Park mangroves, with stops the boat operator includes such as a bat cave or a fish farm. Afternoon free for the beach or duty-free shops.
