Two nights among Athens' ancient sites, then four on Santorini for the caldera villages, sunsets and a volcano boat day.
Greece is the honeymoon trip we are asked for most, and this version keeps it to two places. Athens gives the Acropolis with the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the Plaka quarter and a look at the changing of the guard at Syntagma. A ferry or short flight then crosses to Santorini, a crescent-shaped island formed by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, around 1600 BC. Its villages of Fira, Imerovigli and Oia stand along the caldera rim, and the Oia sunset is the island's signature view. Days cover the caldera path walk, the black-sand beaches of Perissa and Kamari, the Akrotiri excavations of a Bronze Age town preserved in ash, and a boat trip to the volcanic islets with a swim in the hot springs. A winery visit and a sunset cruise are the usual add-ons. Hotels, ferries and inclusions are set by the supplier and listed for confirmation.
