Six days in Dubai covering the skyline, old creek quarter, a desert evening and free time, planned at a pace that suits first-time family travellers.
This six-day Dubai holiday is built for families and first-time visitors who want to see the main sights without rushing. Dubai sits on the Gulf coast and is known for its modern skyline, with Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai standing at roughly 828 metres, alongside the artificial Palm Jumeirah island and the large Dubai Mall. The plan balances these with the older side of the city, where the Dubai Creek is lined by traditional souks such as the Gold Souk in Deira. Time is set aside for an evening in the desert outside the city, a view of the Dubai Fountain on Burj Lake, and a free day to shop, rest at the hotel or repeat a favourite place. The arrival and departure days are kept light so that flight timings do not spoil the sightseeing days. Dubai time is 1.5 hours behind India, so the body clock adjusts easily. Winter, from about November to March, is the milder season, while July and August are the hottest months, so most travellers choose the cooler months. Exact hotels, vehicles, tickets and meals depend on the supplier and are listed for confirmation before booking.
Arrive at Dubai airport, meet your transfer and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest; if you have energy, a short evening walk near the hotel is a gentle start. Note that Dubai is 1.5 hours behind India.
Spend the day on the modern side of the city: the Burj Khalifa area, the Dubai Mall and the Dubai Frame, with a photo stop at the Palm Jumeirah side of the coast if time allows. In the evening, watch the Dubai Fountain on Burj Lake; the official Visit Dubai page lists shows every 30 minutes from 6pm.
Head to the historic side of the city along Dubai Creek. Cross the water by traditional abra boat and wander the souks, including the Gold Souk in Deira, at a relaxed pace with time for browsing. The afternoon is open for rest before dinner.
The morning is free. In the afternoon you are taken out of the city to the desert for an evening programme, typically sunset views, dune driving and a camp dinner. Wear light, comfortable clothes and carry a light layer, as evenings can be cooler.
A day left open on purpose. Families can shop, relax at the hotel, or add an optional attraction or theme park on their own account. Your trip manager can suggest ideas and help book them.
Check out after breakfast, if included, and transfer to the airport for your flight home. Leave the hotel in good time for airport formalities.
